Sitting atop the Kakiyama:
Atop the Kakiyama sit six people with three on each side carrying red and white sharps.
These were appointed by the district to be the laeders or the Kakiyama. They bang red tubes together to encourage the other carriers and give orders how to best follow the route.
The person in the middle is considered leader of the Kakiyama and it is a great honour to be chosen to be one of these controllers.
