\r\nAround the 28th of June the Kazariyamas decoration dolls are set upon the Kazariyama frames under the istruction of the dollmaking master. The master stands as far away from the base, as the Kazariyama is high since this is believed to be the best viewing point.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The puppetmaster uses a particular way of telling his helpers where to put the puppets. Instead of just using “Left” and “Right” he uses the phrase “Fukuoka” for “Left” and “Hakozaki” for “Right”. The reason for this is, that it is supposed to be intuitive for residents of Hakata, since on a map Fukuoka is on the left side of Hakata and Hakozaki on the right.<\/p>\r\n
