The large number of tourists, that visit Canal City every day, can now see one of Hakatas beautiful Kazariyama on the centre stage of the large commercial complex.
The stage is in the centre of a large spherical space, surrounded mostly by the main Canal City building. This makes Canal Citys stage a great atrium for the Kazariyama, since it can be viewed from almost all sides and all heights.
In 2011 as a response to the great Tohoku-earthquake, Canal Citys Kazariyama was built in the style of a Nebuta Festival Handbarrow, to show solidarity with Tohoku and Aomori, where the largest Nebuta festival is held.
