Yamaksa Dictionary

During the Nagaregaki the Kakiyama are carried with speed through the own district. The carriers are directed by the controllers sitting on the Kakiyama and shouting the directions.

The route taken goes through most of the district trying to retrace the major streets of the old Hakata. The newer township boundaries of the smaller sub-districts are mostly ignored during the run, since the festival only uses the much older districts boundaries.
