Sigil of the Kushida-shrine:
Since the Kushida-shrine is dedicated to three gods, it has three sigils. The one, see on the left, is the sigil of Sosanoo-no-Mikoto. It is often thought to resemble a slice of cucumber and is actually the reason why people of Hakata dont eat cucumbers during the festivities (see more at [Taboos]).
The middle one is the sigil of Oohatameshi-no-Mikoto and the right one is the sigil of Tenshō Kōtaijin.
On this poster of the Yamakasa the sigils of both Sosanoo-no-Mikoto and Oohatameshi-no-Mikoto make an appearance.
The belts of the long water vest also carry the sigils.
Also interesting is, that the bells at the Kushida-shrine are also split into one for each of the dietys. Over time it has become constomary for the carriers of the Kakiyama not to use the right hand bell.
