The frame construction: Soon after the washing of the poles, the frame of the Kakiyama is put together. The whole contraption is held together by rope. Not a single nail is used, which makes the poles reusable over several years. To ensure the rope is knotted tight enough one of the poles is used as a lever to pull the knots tight.
After the frame is assembled, it is taken for a testrun to find any loose knots.
