Everything about the Yamakasa and their districts

Yamakasa-NaviYamakasa LocationsChiyo-nagare

千代流

Chiyo-nagare is a relatively new district, since it was added to Hakata after World War Two to incorporate the large amount of houses being built on the east side of Hakatas bordering river. It has the largest area of all districts and brings a large amount of participants each year.
The district has a large Childrens Yamakasa event, organised together with several schools in the district.
The water vests of the district are unified with the same pattern with the two characters for “Chiyo” on their back.

The districts Kazariyama stands in front of the building “Pavilion 24” near Chiyo-Station every year. Although this is rather far from Hakatas centre, the Kazariyama is one of the highest and is built with enthusiasm since the district started building their Kazariyama again in 1990.

Please check the Japanese website for information on this year's event.
